ASSIGNMENT
Creating a universal pouch which is future proof and can support several Philips shaver models.
The pouch should be appealing enough to be sold separately.
APPROACH AND CONCEPT
First I looked at all the important aspects of this pouch. What does the consumer expect from the function and appearance? Which size will contain all necessities but is still small enough to travel? How should the interior be designed to protect the device and its accessories? What restrictions are there from the retailers regarding the packaging size? Which CMF, trimming and details make the pouch worth spending extra money on?
THE RESULT
The appearance of the pouch has become a nice balance between sporty and sophisticated, matching the style of most Philips shavers. The outer shells have a sleek and soft rubber PU lamination and the zipper is a reversed zipper with a rubber coating. The glossy black TPE logo emblem gives a nice, premium contrast to its matt background. A little hint of colour is visible on the hidden nylon zipper teeth, which are the famous Philips blue. The inside has three pockets, made of stretch mesh fabric for air circulation and visibility.
